How to maintain agricultural yields and cultivate without synthetic pesticides?

March 23, 2021

Producing without synthetic chemical pesticides, while maintaining yields, Medinbio is working to solve this difficult equation in order to reconcile respect for the environment and the performance of agricultural production by proposing a new model that is both healthy and productive thanks to a major innovation: the systemic approach. The company is thus innovating to enable agriculture to overcome this impasse thanks to the contribution of science.

Medinbio's approach consists in reducing and eliminating pesticides step by step while maintaining phytotechnical performances. Indeed, Medinbio proposes to producers' organizations, to food industries as well as to mass distribution, crop protection programs based on the complementarity of actions: microorganisms, stimulators of natural plant defenses and natural active ingredients orchestrated in an aggregative system approach.

The necessary paradigm shift towards a new bio-intensive agriculture

Faced with a global population explosion, food needs are constantly increasing. Consequently, the need to increase the yields of agricultural production is undeniable. This pressure on producers has so far been solved by the massive use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, irrigation, mechanization and new seed selection techniques.

This agricultural approach is currently facing major controversies on its environmental impact and shows technical limits that have long been underestimated (impoverishment of ecosystems; use of numerous molecules with proven impacts on the environment and public health; erosion and decline in soil fertility).

This agricultural model has thus reached its ceiling. The time has come for a green revolution "GREENDEAL" with the objective of freeing ourselves from the use of synthetic phytosanitary products.

Medinbio's approach is in line with this objective by designing healthy, environmentally friendly, affordable products with no significant impact on production costs.

The new paradigm developed by Medinbio emancipates itself as much from agro-chemicals that unbalance ecosystems as from a low-input scientific model of organic agriculture that does not seem to be up to the challenges of today's global food system.

In contrast, the concept of bio-intensive agriculture maintains productivity, restores ecosystems and enhances natural balances in order to regulate the problems posed by each crop.

The aggregative system approach, the Medinbio innovation

The Medinbio method is based on an innovation and the fruit of a collaborative work to accelerate the agro ecological transition thanks to a method associating a system approach to innovative products, a third way in a way combining productivity and respect of the environment: the intensive organic agriculture.

By creating partnerships with universities, research centers but also industrialists and producers in search of a pesticide-free solution adapted to their ecological conscience, Medinbio has developed an innovative approach: the agroecological aggregative system approach.

This systemic approach is based on three foundations:

  • SOIL: Medinbio proposes to place the soil at the centre of its bio-intensive strategy to strengthen the plant from its roots and stimulate the rhizosphere.
  • NDS (Natural Defences Stimulators): Thanks to a good control of the biological mechanisms, the formulations elaborated by Medinbio identify the best moment to activate the defence system of the plants.
  • Natural agents: Medinbio develops natural agents that are effective according to specific targets (plant pests, pathogenic fungi, etc.). These natural molecules of great diversity are biodegradable and respect the ecosystems.

The Medinbio systemic method is opposed to the repressive agrochemical model by piloting at each stage a targeted biostimulation adapted to each production context with a combination of different complementary and synergistic natural solutions applied at the right time. This innovative model combines respect for health and the environment with productivity and high agricultural yields.
